Is ASA tuition-free?

Yes. Allegiance STEAM Academy is a tuition-free public charter school. There is no tuition to attend.

What grades does ASA serve?

ASA serves students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade at both our Chino and Fontana campuses.

Do I have to live in Chino or Fontana to apply?

No. Families do not have to live in Chino or Fontana to submit an application.

Residency may be considered as part of ASA's approved admission preferences if a lottery is required.

Can I apply to both ASA Chino and ASA Fontana?

Yes. Families may apply to one or both campuses through SchoolMint.

Applications and waitlists are managed separately for each school.

When is Open Enrollment for 2027–28?

Open Enrollment is:

October 1–December 31, 2026

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on December 31, 2026 for Open Enrollment lottery consideration.

How do I apply?

All applications are submitted through ASA's SchoolMint application portal.

Create an account or log in to your existing SchoolMint account, add your student, select the appropriate campus and school year, and submit your application.

Do I need to submit an application for each child?

Yes. A separate application must be submitted for each child you would like considered for admission.

Does my current ASA student need to apply again?

No. Students who currently attend ASA do not submit a new Open Enrollment application simply to continue attending the following school year.

Returning families will receive separate information about annual registration.

Does a sibling of a current ASA student need to apply?

Yes. A sibling who does not currently attend ASA must have an application submitted to be considered for admission.

Any applicable sibling preference is determined according to ASA's approved Admissions & Enrollment Policy.

What if I miss the December 31 deadline?

You may still submit an application after Open Enrollment closes.

Applications received after December 31 are not included in the Open Enrollment lottery and will be processed according to available space and applicable waitlists.

Why would ASA hold a lottery?

If ASA receives more applications than there are available seats in a grade, a public random lottery is held.

The lottery determines admission offers and waitlist order according to ASA's approved enrollment procedures.

When will the 2027–28 lottery take place?

Lotteries will be held in February 2027 for grades where applications exceed available seats.

Families are invited, but do not need to attend the lottery for their child's application to be included. 

Results from the lottery will be shared via your Schoolmint portal and email after the lottery is held.

Does applying earlier improve my chances?

No.

All eligible applications submitted during the Open Enrollment window receive consideration according to ASA's approved enrollment procedures.

An application submitted on October 1 does not receive an advantage over one submitted later in the Open Enrollment period.

How does the waitlist work?

If there are more applicants than available seats, the lottery establishes the waitlist order.

As seats become available, offers are made according to the established waitlist.

Because openings depend on changes in enrollment, ASA cannot guarantee whether or when a seat will become available.

Does attending ASA in the past give my child priority?

Previous attendance does not automatically provide admission priority.

Admission preferences are applied only as provided in ASA's approved Admissions & Enrollment Policy.

What happens if my child receives an admission offer?

Follow the instructions in your SchoolMint notification and respond by the deadline provided.

Offers are time-sensitive. Families must accept the offer and complete the required registration steps within the timelines provided.

Is my child enrolled as soon as I accept the offer?

Not yet.

Accepting an offer allows your family to move forward with registration.

Required enrollment documents and registration steps must be completed before your child's enrollment is finalized.

What documents will I need for registration?

Families who receive and accept an offer will complete the registration in their SchoolMint portal and will receive instructions explaining what documents are required.

These may include records such as:

• Proof of age (birth cerfiticate, hospital certificate, passport or government issued ID)
• Immunization records (complete records with name of student visible)
• Parent/guardian identification (driver’s license, passport or other offical form of identification)
• Proof of grade level (must show student’s name, academic year and grade level)
• Current IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable

Specific instructions will be provided during the registration process.

When will my child start school?

For students admitted before the beginning of the 2027–28 school year, families will receive back-to-school information before school begins.

Families accepting an available seat during an active school year will receive information regarding registration, onboarding and the student's assigned start date after required enrollment steps have been completed.

Does ASA serve students with IEPs and 504 Plans?

Yes.

ASA serves eligible students with disabilities and provides special education and Section 504 supports in accordance with applicable law and individual student needs.

A student's disability or need for services does not prevent a family from applying to ASA.

Does ASA provide transportation?

No. Families are responsible for providing transportation to and from school.

Are breakfast and lunch available?

Yes. Breakfast and lunch are available to students at no cost through California's Universal Meals Program.

Does ASA offer before- and after-school programs?

ASA offers expanded learning opportunities that may include before- and after-school programming, clubs, tutoring, athletics and enrichment.

Programs, schedules and availability may vary by campus and school year.

Is TK/Kindergarten full day?

Our TK and Kindergarten programs are half day. Please view the bell schedules on our Chino and Fontana campus websites to review the half day program times.
