Howling Circles
Howling Circle
What Are Howling Circles?
Howling Circles are ASA's initiative to enhance community and support students' social-emotional wellness. Held daily these sessions include:
- Daily Check-In and Greeting: Students share feelings and experiences to foster trust and openness.
- Mindfulness Integration: Each session features a mindfulness strategy.
- School Wide Themed Discussions: Topics align with our Wellness Weekly curriculum, covering areas like empathy and self-regulation.
Our Purpose
The goal is to help students feel connected to peers, teachers, and the school community, promoting emotional well-being and a sense of belonging. When students feel safe and connected they are more regulated and capable of learning.
What Families Can Do
To bridge school and home, a copy of the week's Wellness Weekly will be sent home each Friday. We encourage families to review and discuss the themes together, reinforcing the skills learned.
